Hunting for Electro-Magnetic Safe Zones using a Technologically Enhanced Dog
by Linna Griffin
The ‘speculative product’ known as the EM Muzzle is thought provoking in a way that directly contradicts the traditional understanding of the role muzzles and specially trained dogs play within the public understanding. When Dogs are muzzled it is usually for the protection of the persons around them and often the muzzle does not handicap the dog’s other senses of hearing and sight. Hunting and Tracking have traditionally been the tasks assigned to dogs ever since man has been able to train canines. However, as the built world has expanded alongside technology, the lines separating the built world and the natural world have begun to blur and the escape from what humanity has built has begun to take precedence over the need to hunt.
