Designs for an Over Populated Planet

Justin Finkenaur-Blog Post

I chose to respond to ‘Designs for an Over Populated Planet’ because it is an example of natural selection, or survival of the fittest where a human is the subject. I make this argument because in the project, you see humans adapting to the changing environment; in this case, the world is running out of food. The project even states how Dunne and Raby look at evolutionary processes, as well as molecular technologies, as inspiration for this project. I also found it interesting how they argue industry and government could not solve the problem of food shortage in the world, thus resulting in smaller groups of people adapting and building their own solutions. Perhaps the human race will eventually need to adapt physiologically in order to live with less food.
